Mac OS X Notes

- No driver is required for OS X 10.5 "Leopard"

- The MacBook Pro won't shut down if the Duel Adapter is inserted - it will just re-start. Remove the Duel Adapter in order to Shut Down.

- Due to a peripherals management limitation in Mac OS X, your MacBook Pro must be restarted before re-inserting the DuelAdapter into the ExpressCard card slot on your computer. You can insert and remove PMCIA cards as many times as you wish, but if the Duel Adapter itself is removed, you must re-boot. Duel Systems is actively working with Apple and expect to have this situation corrected in a future Mac OS X release. Please check the Drivers page for updates.

- You must eject any PMCIA device before removing the Duel Adapter, just like you would eject a CD, iPod, or memory card. In the Finder, you drag the icon to the Trash, wait 5 seconds, and then remove the device.

Panasonic P2 Notes for Mac OS X

- You have to install the Panasonic P2 Driver as well as the Duel driver for the MacBook Pro to recognize P2 cards. Panasonic P2 Driver can be found here. Then click on the link that says "Download Driver Software for Windows & Macintosh computers". Mac Users install "P2PCCardInstall.pkg"

- For Final Cut Pro 5.1, with the P2 card connected, go File>Import>Panasonic P2. This brings ups the Import Panasonic P2 screen. Files are on the left side.
- For Final Cut Pro 6, go File>Log and Transfer. This brings up the window.

- When you are done importing the P2 card footage, hit the eject button on the top left corner of the Import window. This ejects the card from Final Cut as well as the Finder.

- Clips are stored in your Capture Scratch folder, unless you specify otherwise.

- Speed of Transfer - on a MacBook Pro 2.16 Ghz, speeds were about 1 GB/minute for transfering in Final Cut. So a 4 GB card will take about 4 minutes.
